Amanda Butler first fell in love with the Island of Mallorca on holiday in the year 2000. It didn’t take long to decide this was where her future lay, leaving the United Kingdom behind her and arriving in Mallorca to stay in 2002.
With over 15 years in international sales and marketing, in addition to experience in property, Amanda set her mind to familiarising herself with Mallorca and the local real estate market, starting work with one of the most established real estate agents on the Island.
In April 2004 she met Spike Thompson, a long established resident and business man in Mallorca for over 10 years. Together they pooled their resources and local knowledge and started to develop the concept behind mallorcapropertydirect.com. With an inside track on the industry, and a knowledge of the competition, they set about developing a site that offered what no other real estate company seemed to offer – an insiders guide to Mallorca, a comprehensive guide to buying, selling and renting, and most important of all, a choice.

The concept was started by detailing what information is necessary to enable any individual to make an informed decision about the buying, selling or renting of a property, prior to engaging professional legal advice.
In addition we felt it important to provide information about the island and its locations for those unfamiliar with Mallorca. Not in place of a guide book, but offering a general overview; this part will be ongoing – growing and being updated on a regular basis – after all it is a big island and there's a lot to talk about! Not wanting to forget the resident community, and knowing that good restaurants, bars, and entertainment are crucial to the enjoyment of relaxation time, we have added a Restaurant Guide, and in due course, a What's On Guide, to keep everyone up to date with the latest restaurants and entertainment available.
Inevitably, the presentation of the properties is key to a good property website, and so we endeavoured to provide more information about a property than any other web site we have seen, or indeed, more than a real estate agent normally provides.
